Since the library is heavily used and uninterrupted work must be ensured, it is necessary for all visitors to adhere to the rules for studying in the archive.

Visits for groups and interested parties are possible (by appointment) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Tel.: 06431-971727-0 or 0178-870-5297

A free introduction for new members takes place by telephone appointment.

Smoking and the consumption of food in the library are not permitted. Any subsequent costs incurred due to non-compliance will be borne by the offending visitor.

All used scores must be returned to their place as they were taken out. The entire protective folder must be removed and put back with the opening facing up.

If you want to play through something on an instrument, please bring your own headphones so as not to disturb other users.

Sample pages generally cannot be produced during the visit, especially since this is not possible for works from certain publishers. Viewing scores can be ordered from the supervisory staff.

Please remember to finish your studies early so that there is still time to “clean up.”

Since each copy is only available once, borrowing – even for a few days – for home study is not possible.

Bags are not allowed in the reading rooms. Please leave them in the car or hand them over to the supervisor. Coats should be hung on the coat rack.

Domestic phone calls are free, as is the use of the internet for research in the Musica database. Search engines can also be used. The searches are recorded so that their results can be understood and to protect against misuse of internet access.

The unauthorized addition of works to the archive is prohibited. Please hand over your own compositions or those of others to the supervisor.

Instructions from the supervisory staff must be followed in all cases.

The German Centre for Choral Music declines any responsibility for the legal consequences of unauthorized photographic reproductions of music pages and their exploitation.
